One group even included a song. That was for the most part our Bible lesson for today. Memory work due by Thursday is Hosea 14: 1-2.

In Geography we watch a movie dealing with an escape from Cuba. It was rather powerful to see a man and his family try so hard to escape Communism. Thankfully, they made it.

I have posted grades on Infinite Campus for all classes except the Living Through History. There was an issue with what marking periods I would be doing what, and I am doing extra LTH instead of a Canada so 7C is not "in the computer" for LTH in the first marking period. Whew! Questions please call or email me.

Welcome to November, weather that is. What a change. It just show us how God is King of the universe. In Bible today we are looking at Elijah when he ran from Jezebel and God. MONDAY

Whew!! The last hot day of 2007, and I am glad. (Craig James said we would not have another over 80) The band is having a big practice today in preparation for their half-time show at HCHS this Friday, so we had a few alterations on our schedule today. We did get most of our Bible assignment done, but we did not get to Geography. We worked on the life of Elijah, and started on the back of the sheet with the experience at Mount Carmel.
Our next memory work will be an in-class writing assignment on Psalm 89: 35-37. Our next out of class memory work will be all of Psalm 8. Most kids have done most of this in years past and it should be a great refresher.

WEDNESDAY

Welcome to Wednesday.
This morning I had the privilege of subbing for Mr. Bouman so he could drive a bus to the Passion for Fashion assembly at HCHS. What fun to experience 4th grade for a few hours. I shared what an Analemma was as part of their study of latitude and longitude. Ask your seventh grade what it is. We did it to. In our classes we took our first DOG quiz and they did very well. We did not do any Bible, but as a class, we met in the choir room to discuss the assembly and how God wants us to view the opposite sex and clothing.
Just for grins to find out how many actually read this, just hit comments and say hi.

TUESDAY

Just a quick note since I am late to get home to help my wife babysit two of our lovely grandchildren.
In Bible we completed our work from Monday, which was taking some notes on Israel's neighbors. We did not get very far in Geography after doing some DOG questions about population density. Ask them what it means. I did assign a MOODLE assignment covering pages 63-69. Most finished in class.
We will have a DOG quiz tomorrow.

Monday, October 1, 2007

MONDAY

neighbors. We were looking for 3 to 5 facts about the people from pages 18-23. We will continue to work on and finish this tomorrow in class. In Geography, we had some time to get ideas down on a sketch sheet for our Latin American nations time line.
I handed out another book order today. I talk about discretion and careful spending. But if you want to order, please have it in by Friday. Make checks payable to ZCS, not Scholastic.
Wednesday, our 7th and 8th graders are going to Holland Christian for an assembly. Mr, Ippel explained it last week in his email and blog.
Stay dry.
