THURSDAY

Bible: We did the lesson on the Fall of Jerusalem. They had a choice of doing the assignment on Moodle, or paper. We are getting near the end of the unit so a test is planned for next Wednesday. Bible memory work for Tuesday is Lamentations 3: 21-23.

Geography: The assignment was to read pagrs 13-16 and complete a sheet on climate in Asia.

Prayer country is Taiwan, and the character trait is resourcefulness.

WEDNESDAY

Before I forget, yesterdays European Eating Experience was greatly help by Chef Len from
At the Diner, the downtown Zeeland eatery where dining is a great pleasure, and all the meals are made from scratch.
In Bible today we did The Story of Hope, lesson about Jeremiah buying a field just before the people of Judah are captured by the Babylonians. The worksheet is due Thursday.
In Geography, pages 8-12 were assigned along with a worksheet to answer as they kids carefully read the section.

TUESDAY

Whew! No snow day, we were all (except 2 kids) healthy, and we had a great morning with our European Eating Experience. After that, I had a few more food items to share with the kids, and then all we did was watch a fantastic movie about Auschwitz. That was the main title, but it dealt with what creates such a thing. It boils down to each and every one of us when we do not treat others with the respect they deserve. The home work given for today will be collected tomorrow.
Remember India and the persecuted Christians there that suffer for their faith.

MONDAY

Could this be a 5 day week? I hope we will be here tomorrow for our first (and last) European Eating Experience. There are still 13 kids who have not paid up. Please get it in tomorrow.
In Bible today we did a worksheet on "Repent and Be Saved" about Jeremiah and how no matter how hard he preached, the people did not listen.
In Geography we started our new book on Asia. Our opening assignment is page 2-7, and answer the rapid questions dealing with he 5 themes of Geography.
Prayer country is Mauritania, and our character trait is Self-Control.

FRIDAY

Oh what a beautiful day!! Blessed are you LORD God, King of the universe for sunshine and blue skies. May we pray so boldly asking for more of the same.
In Bible today we read the lesson on Jeremiah's Laments and did a group search of a passage from Jeremiah.
In Geography we did a group map search activity dealing with the former Soviet Union. There is no homework in either class.
Prayer country today is SUDAN.
Character trait is Tolerance

WEDNESDAY

Today we just introduced a lesson on Jeremiah's trials. We read the text, and I think that will be about it as we try to do some catch-up (sounds like a Heinz day- don't you just relish those jokes?)
In Geography we spent time reviewing what the essay questions will be on the mini-exam scheduled for tomorrow. This will finish our academic portion of Europe. We still have our eating experience next Tuesday.
Our prayer country today is Albania. This led into the formation of Kosovo as an independent country right next store. Our character trait today is Endurance. Keep up the good fight!

FRIDAY

Today we did Geography for almost all of the time. The Bible assignment and memory work were collected before we headed to the Ukraine. Our next to last assignment for Europe is to read pages 154 to 160 and fill in the worksheet. Also handed out was the Mini-Exam study sheet. The exam will be next week Wednesday.
Our prayer country is Nepal, and our character trait is Initiative.
